The John Ruskin Prize 2014 Collection

Original artworks and limited edition prints by The John Ruskin Prize 2014 shortlisted artists:

In 2014 The Campaign for Drawing in collaboration with The Guild of St.George previewed an exhibition of drawings, paintings, prints and textiles by 23 artists shortlisted for The 2nd John Ruskin Prize across 2 venues: Millennium Gallery, Sheffield and The Electrician's Shop Gallery, Trinity Buoy Wharf , London. Still a relatively new award, the 2014 theme invited artists over 18 across the UK to submit ‘fresh, contemporary visions of the UK's urban, rural or social environment'. The selection panel considered over 600 entries before agreeing on the final 23, which offer an engaging mix of materials, techniques and topical commentary, exploring urban sprawl, dereliction and the endangered British countryside. Artwork was snapped up by public and private collections during the two exhibitions but some of the work is still available to buy, alongside new limited editions by John Ruskin Prize Shortlist artists. The winning piece 'Slowly Creeping' by Maggie Hargreaves was bought by Millennium Dome architect Mike Davies during the London Exhibition. Mandy Payne's (runner up) haunting concrete paintings were all bought by private collectors and by The Guild of St. George for The Ruskin Collection. Mandy's limited edition prints are available to buy below.
