Self Portrait by Nicholas Garland


Nicholas Withycombe Garland is a political cartoonist for the Daily Telegraph. He has previously drawn for The New Statesman, The Spectator and The Independent. He also illustrated the Barry McKenzie comic strip by Barry Humphries in Private Eye. 

As well as being an acclaimed cartoonist, Nicholas has exhibited his paintings and woodcuts widely. 

This self portrait was created by Nicholas Garland at a Big Draw event. Which encouraged Garland and artists such as Piers Gough and Posy Simmonds to look in the mirror and commit what they saw to paper.
